DESCRIPTION:Join the Jersey Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) and Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC) for a half-day conference on the relationship between cybersecurity and data protection.\nCybersecurity and data protection are closely linked. A core function of cybersecurity measures is to protect personal data from unauthorised access: when cyberattacks are successful, they often involve the compromise of personal data.\nSimilarly, a fundamental principle of data protection principle is to use the appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of personal data.\nThis half day conference is aimed at everyone working in the related fields of data protection and cyber security.\nAttendees will have the chance to discuss how cyber security and data protection interact, including how they are – or should be – regulated.\nThey’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions of both the Information Commissioner for Jersey (Paul Vane), and the Director of the Jersey Cyber Security Centre (Matt Palmer).\nThis event also includes a drinks reception sponsored by the Islands Data Governance Forum (IDGF) so that attendees can meet colleagues who also work in this area.\nThis event is free to attend and open to everyone, but will be of particular interest to Islanders working in the cybersecurity and data protection fields.\nRefreshments will be provided.\n
