DESCRIPTION:The evening will be presented by Phil Barker, on behalf of the Jersey Safety Council, who delivers the ‘Practical HSPC & Applied Design Risk Management Course’, highlighting the best practices for the practical application of the Management in Construction (Jersey) Regulations 2016.\nAssociated with the construction industry from 1971, working in local government, contracting and support services in the UK, Channel Islands, Europe, Middle East, Far East and Australia. Since 1994 Philip Barker has been involved in H&S support including project management, CDM Coordinator, Principal Designer, HSPC, consultancy and delivering training.\nThe event objectives include:\n\nRaising awareness of the Health and Safety Project Coordinator (HSPC) role, including what they are and are not responsible for\nOutlining the ideal stages for an HSPC to get involved – generally Stage 4 of the RIBA Plan of Work\nUnderstanding the need to appoint an HSPC with an appropriate level of experience for the project.\n\nCovering:\n\nDesign Risk Assessments.\nCase Studies.\nHelping the Client appoint an HSPC & understanding HSPC role:\n\nInvolving an HSPC at the correct stages.\nSelecting an HSPC based on competencies.\n\n\nHow to become an HSPC.\nQ&A session.\n\n \n
