SUMMARY:Touch rugby taster session
DESCRIPTION:‘New’ is the word to describe some of the ideas and initiatives that the New Guernsey Touch Committee are bringing in for this year.\nA new format for the Beginner’s League – Spring League – will be brought in on the 5th March, seeing two weeks of ‘Learn to Play Sessions’ followed by a 7-week league for individuals who would like to start Touch Rugby or develop their skills further. These two sessions will be held on Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th March, at the KGV Playing Fields from 2.45pm to 4.45pm. These sessions are FREE of charge, to encourage people to try the sport with the view to sign up for the Spring League.\nThe League will continue from the 19th March onwards (at the same time), with some initial training sessions, followed by a 4-week tournament. The League costs £35per person, and the sign-up form is available on Social Media.\nHannah Dunnell the new Chairperson for Guernsey Touch said about the Learn to Play sessions: “This is the perfect opportunity for people to try the sport without having to commit in any capacity. Touch rugby is a very sociable sport and is a great form of exercise, which requires no equipment to play. This is a fantastic way to get involved in playing a form of rugby, without the contact! We look forward to seeing lots of new faces at these sessions – all abilities are welcome and we would encourage anyone who has considered playing to come and have a taster, free of charge.”\nIf you would like to more information about Guernsey Touch leagues, tournaments or socials, contact the Social Secretary & Fundraising Lead Chrissie Ferbrache by email.\n
