DESCRIPTION:Blues to make you feel good!\nA collaborative concert from Music Managed and Giles Robson\nFeaturing two local acts: The Engine – led by outstanding blues guitarist/vocalist Paul Bisson, with Richard Poignard on keys, David Ashurst on bass, and Timmy Bryon on drums; and Ferret and Olly, an amazing duo that provide a far greater experience than you’d expect from just two musicians.\nThe stage will then be handed over to Giles Robson. The multi-award winning, internationally recognised Blues harmonica virtuoso and singer. He will be joined by some very special guests… watch this space for forthcoming announcements!\nGiles Robson has had a dream musical career. He’s the only European artist to appear on Chicago’s legendary Alligator Records, who described him as “a blues giant, absolute master of the form”. He is one of only three UK Blues artists (alongside Eric Clapton and Peter Green) to win a coveted Blues Music Award in Memphis (The Grammys of the Blues). His albums are at the top of the world’s most prestigious music magazines’ critics’ polls: Mojo Magazine, Living Blues and Downbeat. Giles annually tours over 15 countries across the world.\nHe plays and sings beautiful, powerful, emotional and timeless blues, with a deep groove that’s laden with feeling. He is widely considered one of the world’s greatest blues harmonica virtuosos. He plays in his own accomplished and distinct style that captures stunned audiences’ hearts and imaginations with his mixture of superb technique, rhythmic power, tonal control, and sensitive, emotional expression. Witnessing Giles Robson live is a dazzling and unforgettable experience as audiences from around the world constantly discover.\nGiles Robson will be proud to present special guest artist Alice Armstrong. Championed by BBC Radio 2’s Craig Charles (‘Really loving that vocal’) who was blown away by her incredible vocal skills, Alice Armstrong is simply one of the greatest contemporary UK blues singers. A multi UK Blues Awards-nominated artist, known for her wide vocal range, masterful songwriting with unconventional lyrics, enigmatic delivery and powerful stage presence. She has spent the last few years performing at many of the UK’s biggest rhythm and blues festivals, and has worked with some of the most respected musicians on the scene.
