SUMMARY:Guernsey Design Awards 2022 presentation evening
DESCRIPTION:Winner announcements and trophy presentations. Admission is free and anyone wishing to attend can register for tickets.\nThe awards, which recognise outstanding design in our built environment, attracted entries that represent a broad spectrum of building projects.\nCommenting on how difficult the shortlist selection had been, Steve Powell from main sponsor Norman Piette said “The judging panel is made up of representatives from a variety of disciplines within the architectural and building industries and, though we have guidelines of what to look for in a project and how it matches the brief, we all have very different perspectives.\n“Whilst this ensures that entries benefit from the broadest, and fairest range of opinions, it also means that reaching agreement isn’t easy, particularly when the standard of entries was so high. However, we now have a shortlist of 15 projects that demonstrate how well local architects rise to the challenge regardless of the size or budget of the build.”\nThe shortlist is split across the five categories of the awards:\nSmall Projects (up to 250k)\n\nDLM Architects – Shed Quarters\nJGA – JGA Design Studio\nPaul Langlois Architects – Crevichon\n\nSingle Residential Renovation /Extension\n\nCCD Architects – La Ronde Cheminée\nPaul Langlois Architects – Forest Farm\nStudiO – Field View\n\nResidential New Build\n\nLovell Ozanne – Shuruuq\nTyrrell Dowinton Associates – La Mare\nLovell Ozanne – La Petite Carriere\n\nHeritage\n\nCCD Architects – Le Vallon Farm\nDLM Architects – The Cottage\nPF&A – Japanese Fishing Pavilion (see the main picture)\n\nCommercial\n\nAxis Mason – Windsor House\nDLM Architects – Oak\nStudiO – Red\n\nIn addition, to the awards for the above categories there will be ‘The People’s Choice’ which is voted for by the public. Starting this year, there will also be an award dedicated to the memory of Mitch Sneddon who has been such an integral part of the awards since their inception, and who sadly passed away in December 2021.\nClick here for full details of all of the entries.\n
